Tanzanite is a softer stone, ranking at 6 to 6.5 on the mohs scale. The bezel setting of this ring provides an added degree of protection, but it still requires extra care and caution to avoid scratching or cracks.
Tanzanite should not be subjected to extreme heat or sudden temperature changes: acids or chemicals. Clean with soapy water and a soft cloth. Rinse well to remove soapy residue.
