To properly store your jewelry, clean and dry each piece before placing it in a designated jewelry box or drawer with individual compartments to prevent tangling scratching and damage. Store jewelry in a cool, dry, dark place, away from direct sunlight, humidity, and harmful chemicals like perfume or cleaning products, which can cause discoloration or tarnish. Consider using anti-tarnish strips for silver and always keep harder stones separate from softer ones to avoid scratches.

Before You Store
  • Clean your jewelry:
Remove dirt, oils, and sweat accumulated on your jewelry before storing it.

  • Dry thoroughly:
Make sure jewelry is completely dry to prevent water stains, especially for metals like silver.

  • Avoid chemicals:
Don't spray perfume or use cleaning products while wearing jewelry; instead, apply these products before putting on your jewelry.

Choosing the Right Storage
  • Use a jewelry box or tray:
A jewelry box with compartments or a tray with dividers will keep pieces separated and prevent them from getting tangled or scratched.

  • Use anti-tarnish products:
For metals prone to tarnishing, like silver, use anti-tarnish strips or bags to absorb moisture and pollutants.

Environmental Factors
  • Keep it cool and dry:
Store jewelry in a cool, dry place to prevent warping and fading from heat and direct sunlight.

  • Protect from humidity:
High humidity can cause tarnish and other types of damage, so avoid storing jewelry in damp areas.

  • Separate different stones:
Keep harder gems (like diamonds) away from softer stones to prevent scratches.
