How Do I Measure My Finger?
1: Select a ring you already own that properly fits the intended finger
2: Measure the INSIDE diameter of the ring
3: Match the measurement to the conversion chart to the left. If the ring falls between two sizes, we advise you to order the larger of the two sizes.
1: Your finger size can change throughout the day, so it is a good idea to measure at the end of the day when your fingers are at their largest. Do not measure when your hands are cold; your fingers will be at least half a size smaller.
2: Rings with a particularly wide band will feel tighter than a thin band; in these cases, we recommend buying a half to full size larger than your normal ring size.
3: If you are purchasing a gift, and don’t know the correct ring size, take an existing ring that fits well and use the ring size guide on the left to determine the size you wish to order. If this is not possible, speak to our Personal Shopping team at 1-800-788-1247 or email them at firstname.lastname@example.org. They have buckets of experience when it comes to ring sizing and can talk you through all the options including re-sizing rings to ensure the most perfect fit possible.
4: Your ring should fit your finger comfortably; it should of course be snug enough so that it will not fall off, but loose enough to slide over your knuckle.
5. As we hand make each piece, please know that we can also accommodate ¼ sizes and sizes smaller and larger than those shown on our chart.

Essential Cleaning And Maintenance Tips
Anne uses 18kt yellow gold, 14kt rose gold, 14kt white gold, and platinum. 14kt white gold is her choice for white gold because the alloy she has developed is uniquely white and therefore does not require rhodium plating. If you would prefer another white coloured alloy such as palladium white gold or platinum, please contact us. If you have an allergy to nickel, we recommend platinum as it is hypo-allergenic.
General Jewellery Care
Cherish your Anne Sportun hand-made jewellery every day and preserve it for a lifetime with our suggestions.
Place your jewellery in a safe location while sleeping, showering, applying hair products/lotions/perfumes, washing dishes, entering chlorinated water, gardening or engaging in extreme activities. Hair products, dust and daily wear all affect its brilliance. Rough treatment can loosen set stones while detergents and lotions often contain chemicals which can damage the finish of the precious metal. Over time metal will wear and settings may become loose. Have your jewellery checked at least once a year by a qualified Anne Sportun representative.
- Cleaning: A professional, nonabrasive cleaning solution applied with a soft bristle brush or cotton cloth will ensure residue and dust are safely removed. Do not expose colored gemstones to chemicals, extreme heat or cold, solvents or an ultrasonic cleaner without knowing the stone’s specific cleaning requirements.
- Storage: Store your jewellery in a secure place in soft pouches to prevent scratching. Keep away from moisture and heat. Do not store in direct sunlight or near a radiator.
- Insurance: The purchase of fine jewellery is a significant and meaningful one therefore you may choose to insure it against damage, loss or theft. A basic policy may not cover the full replacement cost therefore contact your insurer for additional ways to safeguard your precious items.
Cleaning Diamond Jewellery
The easiest and safest way to care for your diamond jewellery at home is with warm water, mild soap, and a soft toothbrush. For a deeper and more thorough cleaning, an ultrasonic cleaner can be used. These machines use high frequency sound waves through a liquid solution to remove dirt and build up. Ultrasonic cleaners are available at some hardware stores, or through an online retailer. Please note that not all jewellery can be cleaned safely using an ultrasonic cleaner. Please check before cleaning your jewellery with this method. Feel free to stop by the Anne Sportun Flagship Store to have your jewellery cleaned at any time. In fact, we suggest that you bring in your jewellery on a yearly basis to ensure that no settings have become loose.
Cleaning Coloured Stone Jewellery
Coloured gemstones vary greatly in hardness, durability, and sensitivity. It is common practice for coloured stones to be treated to enhance their colour or durability. These treatments, while mostly stable, can make the gemstones more sensitive to light, heat, and chemicals. Therefore we recommend that you use only warm water, mild soap, and an extra-soft toothbrush to clean your coloured-stone jewellery at home. DO NOT use any chemicals or an ultrasonic or steam cleaner on these pieces. If you are at all unsure as to how to care for your coloured-stone Anne Sportun jewellery, we are more than happy to clean the piece for you. Please feel free to drop by our Flagship Store. Visit the About Us page for location and business hours.
The matte finish Anne applies to her work is a surface treatment and over time will become shiny due to everyday wear and body oils. At any time you may send us or bring your Anne Sportun pieces to our Toronto Flagship store so that we may refinish them for you. A charge may apply to some pieces especially platinum which requires more labour.
All of the white diamonds that Anne selects are G colour, VS clarity; the only exceptions are rose-cut diamonds, diamond beads, coloured diamonds, and some custom work. For more information on how diamonds are graded, please visit the Gemological Institute of America's website at www.gia.edu. All the diamonds that Anne uses are carefully chosen under the terms of the Kimberley Process to ensure they originate from ethical and environmentally responsible sources. This process was introduced by the United Nations and is designed to certify the origins of rough diamonds to ensure that they are free of conflict. For more information on the process, please visit www.kimberleyprocess.com.
